almond cheesecake bars

Taste of Home Recipe,and photo. Creator of this recipe got this recipe from her sister-in-law. She brought them to many functions, and everyone always asks for the recipe. I love these creamy bars as does my family and friends. So I thought I would share it with you!

Ingredients

  • BASE:
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • FILLING:
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons almond extract
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • FROSTING;
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 4 to 5 teaspoons milk

How To Make almond cheesecake bars

  • Step 1
    Base: Combine the flour, butter and powdered sugar; press onto the bottom of a buttered 13x9-inch baking pan. Bake at 350^ for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Step 2
    Filling: In a small bowl. beat the cream cheese, sugar and extract, until smooth. Add eggs; beat on low speed just until combined. Pour over crust. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until center is almost set. Cool on a wire rack.
  • Step 3
    Frosting: Combine the frosting ingredients until smooth; spread over bars when cool.
