Ingredients
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/3 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup almonds, toasted
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 package duncan hines moist deluxe butter recipe golden cake mix
- 3 - eggs
- 2/3 cup water
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 to 2 tablespoons water
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 3 tablespoons sliced almonds for garnish
How To Make almond butter loaves

Step 1Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour two loaf pans.

Step 2For crust, combine brown sugar and 1/3 cup butter until light and fluffy. Stir in toasted almonds and flour. Blend well. Divide and press evenly into pans.

Step 3For cake, combine cake mix, eggs, water and 1/2 cup butter at medium speed for 4 minutes. Pour into pans. Bake 45-50 minutes or till tester comes out clean. Cool in pans for 10 minutes and then invert onto cooling racks, crust side up. Cool completely.

Step 4For glaze, combine powdered sugar, 1 T water and extract and stir till smooth. Add more water 1 teaspoon at a time until glaze is the desired consistency. Spoon over cooled loaves. Sprinkle sliced almonds over top. FREEZES BEAUTIFULLY!!!
