Ali's Devilsfood Pecan Cake

We were craving some last-minute cake, so i gathered together these ingredients, and i think they worked!

  • 1 pkg
    dh devilsfood cake mix
  • 1 pkg
    chocolate (i used chocolate fudge) pudding mix
  • 4
  • 1/2 c
    cooking oil
  • 2/3 c
  • 8 oz
    sour cream
  • 1 c
    pecans, chopped
  • 7-12
    pecan halves, to line bottom of pan

How to Make Ali's Devilsfood Pecan Cake


  1. Preheat oven to 350. Spray bundt pan with cooking spray.
  2. Place the pecan halves (as many as you like) in the bottom of pan, arranged nicely - (cause that's going to be the top of the cake). Set aside.
  3. Mix together cake and pudding mixes; add eggs, oil, sour cream and water, stirring until blended and mixing or beating until smooth. Stir in chopped nuts, mix till blended.
  4. Pour into prepared cake pan, being careful not to disturb the sleeping pecans.
  5. Bake at 350 for an hour (test for doneness).
    Cool in pan, on a rack, for 25 minutes.
  6. Invert onto serving plate. (Hopefully your pretty pecan design will be on top.)
  7. Let it cool before frosting or glazing.
    OR: serve as it is.
  8. Keep in's good cold! with milk!!
