Ingredients
- 3 ounces chocolate, unsweetened squares
- 1/3 cup strong coffee
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 2 1/4 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2 - eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup strong coffee
How To Make a favorite chocolate cake

Step 1Melt chocolate in 1/3 cup coffee over low heat,stirring. Set aside to cool slightly.

Step 2Measure and sift the dry ingredients together.

Step 3Cream butter and brown sugar very well.

Step 4Add one egg at a time beat well after each one.

Step 5Add vanilla and blend in the chocolate. Beat well.

Step 6Add dry ingredients alternately with the cup of coffee -use low speed and just combine.

Step 7Put into 2- 9 inch pans or a 10x 13 pan that is well buttered and lined with wax paper.

Step 8Bake in a 350 degree oven until cooked through 35 or 40 minutes.

Step 9Cool 10 minutes in pans, then remove to cool on racks and frost with Dark Chocolate Frosting when cooled.
