Blue Ribbon Recipe

These are the richest brownies you'll ever put into your mouth! The brownie base is dense, chewy and chocolaty. Alone it's great. But add the cheesecake layer with little bitty chocolate chips and you have the best of both worlds - brownies and cheesecake. Make sure to grab a glass of milk... you'll need it to wash this rich brownie down.

Ingredients For a+ brownies

  • BROWNIE BASE
  • 1 pkg
    semi-sweet mini chocolate chips, divided (12 oz.)
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1/4 c
    butter
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 2/3 c
    all-purpose flour
  • TOPPING
  • 1 pkg
    cream cheese, softened (8 oz.)
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter, softened
  • 2
    eggs
  • 2 Tbsp
    milk
  • 1 Tbsp
    all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    almond extract

How To Make a+ brownies

  • Sugar, eggs, and vanilla in a metal bowl.

    To make base: In large bowl, combine sugar and butter; beat until creamy. Add eggs, vanilla and salt; mix well.
  • Melted chocolate being poured into egg mixture.

    In a small microwave-proof bowl, melt 1 and 1/4 cups of the mini chocolate chips until smooth. Add melted chocolate and flour to the first mixture.
  • Beaten chocolate mixture in a silver metal bowl.

    Beat until combined.
  • Batter poured into 9 x 9-inch square pan.

    Pour into well greased 9 x 9-inch square pan. Set aside.
  • Cream cheese, sugar, eggs and other ingredients blended in a bowl.

    To make topping: In a small bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar and butter; beat until creamy. Add eggs, milk, flour and almond extract; beat well.
  • Mini chocolate chips mixed into cheesecake batter.

    Stir in remaining 3/4 cup of mini chocolate chips.
  • Cheesecake mixture poured over brownie batter.

    Pour over brownie base.
  • Brownie and cheesecake batter baking in the oven.

    Bake in a 350-degree oven for 40 to 45 minutes.
  • Cheesecake brownie on a blue plate with whipped cream.

    Cool completely and cut into small pieces. These are very rich and taste best if chilled. Store in refrigerator. Makes 16 to 24 brownies.
