Every one that has tried this cake has absolutly loves it. its the best pound cake i have ever eaten. very moist. I get alot of orders for this cake. My mother was messing around in the kitchen, and made this receipe up. When it comes to cooking she rocks!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup crisco
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 5 - eggs
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, cocunut extract, butter extract, rum extract, lemon extract
  • GLAZE FOR 5 FLAVOR POUND CAKE
  • 1 cup grandulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon each extract vanilla, cocunut, butter,rum and lemon

How To Make 5 flavor pound cake

  • Step 1
    Cream well butter, crisco and sugar. Add eggs 1 at a time beating well between each one. sift together flour, and baking powder. Add flour mixture, alternating with the milk. (start with dry ingredients and end with dry ingredients. add all extracts and mix well. While cake is cooking, make glaze. In Saucepan, melt 1 cup granulated sugar, and 1/2 cup water, and 1 teaspoon of each 5 extracts. cook on medium heat until sugar is melted and it looks clear.
  • Step 2
    grease and flour large tube pan. ( i line mine with parchment paper. and spray the sides with pam.) Put batter in pan. Bake 325` for 1 1/2 hr. Cool in pan. When cake comes out of oven pour the glaze on top and let set overnight or for several hrs. so it sets. Turn out on cake plate. You can make this as 1 large pound cake or 3 large loafs.
