How to Make 1, 2, 3, 4 Cake

  1. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together. Cream shortening and sugar. Add beaten eggs and vanilla. Add sifted flour and milk alternately, beating well after each addition.
  2. Bake in oven at 375 degrees. Makes three layers. Put wax paper in bottom of pans. Grease sides of pan and dust with flour. Grandmother did not put a time to bake this cake, I suppose just keep an eye on it and cook until lightly browned and toothpick comes out clean.
