Ingredients
- 1 cup shortening (2 sticks)
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 cups flour
- 4 - eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
How To Make 1, 2, 3, 4 cake

Step 1Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together. Cream shortening and sugar. Add beaten eggs and vanilla. Add sifted flour and milk alternately, beating well after each addition.

Step 2Bake in oven at 375 degrees. Makes three layers. Put wax paper in bottom of pans. Grease sides of pan and dust with flour. Grandmother did not put a time to bake this cake, I suppose just keep an eye on it and cook until lightly browned and toothpick comes out clean.
