"This is a recipe that my Dad came up with one Christmas when my Mom was sick. Mom & Dad had 6 kids to feed. I have reduced the size down for a family of 4...."

INGREDIENTS
4 to 6 pork loin chops
2 tablespoons butter
Salt/pepper/garlic to taste
In an oven safe skillet.  Brown the porkchops but do not cook all the way.  Just a nice brown crust.
Once pork chops are browned pull the skillet off the fire.
In the skillet combine the following:
2 cups brown rice
2 cups water
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can button mushrooms
1 packet onion soup mix.
Blend well and lay pork chops on top of mixture.
Put skillet in an oven at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes until the rice is cooked.
Pull skillet from stove & sprinkle on 1 cup of shredded sharp cheddar cheese.
