Cuban-Style Black Bean Recipe

INGREDIENTS
1 Tablespoon cooking oil (I use avocado oil)
½ cup finely chopped red onion
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon table salt
¼ teaspoon chili powder
2 15 oz cans black beans (rinse and drain one can (do not rinse/drain the other))
4 oz can mild green chiles ((may substitute 1 finely chopped jalapeno, seeds and ribs removed))
½ cup chicken broth ((may substitute vegetable broth))
1-2 Tablespoons fresh-squeezed lime juice (optional)
