INGREDIENTS
1/2 pound fingerling or other waxy potatoes
Salt
2 strips bacon, cut crosswise into 1/4 -inch strips
1 1/2 tablespoons butter
1 small stalk celery, chopped
1 small onion, chopped
1 large sprig fresh thyme
1 1/2 pounds small clams (such as Manila), in shells
1/3 cup dry white wine
3/4 cup half-and-half
1/4 cup heavy cream
Freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons minced parsley
1/8 teaspoon grated lemon zest
1 1/2 teaspoons minced chives
