"This recipe was used by the Acadians as a sweet treat. Since most Acadians, like settlers, had very little in the way of provisions, they made do with simple ingredients. Flour, raw sugar, eggs, and lard were a staple and often traded for with meat, fish, or produce. Many Acadians today, still prefer these dry cinnamon buns to tour modern-day “Sticky Buns”...."

INGREDIENTS
3 3/4 cups of flour
1 1/4 heaping tbsp. of baking powder
1/2 lb. shortening
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
butter or margarine
brown sugar
cinnamon
