1 package (2¼ teaspoons) instant yeast

½ teaspoons, plus ¼ cup sugar, divided

½ cup whole milk, at room temperature
•
2 tablespoons light brown sugar
•
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
•
1 egg
•
1 egg yolk
•
2¾ cups all-purpose flour, plus more for kneading
•
¾ teaspoon

salt
•
8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature

For the Filling:
•
½ cup sugar
•
¼ dark brown sugar, packed
•
¼ cup finely chopped pecans (optional, I did not use)
•
¼ cup finely chopped walnuts (optional, I did not use)
•
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
•
½ teaspoon salt
•
2 tablespoons maple syrup (I used pancake syrup :x)

Other Ingredients:

4 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
•
For the Icing:
•
Block of cream cheese
•
1 stick butter room temperature
•
2 pounds of powdered sugar
•
Splash of milk 1.
