"Chops and Kraut is my variation on a traditional dish from the Alsace region of France (which for a long time was the Alsace region of Germany) called choucroute. The original dish involves a lot of steps (double the number here) and takes up to a day to prepare, my version is much easier and only takes 1 1/2 to 2 hours - most of that time spent in the oven. This is also a great bet for a slow cooker. The recipe below serves two, but because this dish is much better the second day I recommend at least doubling the recipe. (Larger image.) Serves 2...."
