Cherry Nut Bread

A unique bread everyone will enjoy. The sweet cherries almost make this taste like a flavored roll.

2 1/2 C. flour
1 C. sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 C. chopped walnuts
1 C. diced sweet cherries
1 egg
1 1/4 C. milk
2 Tbs. oil

How to Make Cherry Nut Bread


  • 1In a large bowl mix well flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, walnuts and cherries. In a small bowl beat egg, milk and oil with a fork until blended. Pour over flour mixture; stir just until all ingredients are moistened. Turn into greased 9x5x3-inch loaf pan. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 60 to 70 minutes or until pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on rack 10 minutes. Turn out on rack; cool thoroughly.
