Homemade Marinara Sauce

½ tablespoon olive oil
•
4 garlic cloves, crushed
•
2 fresh basil leaves, torn into small pieces
•
Or 1 teaspoon basil flakes if fresh not available
•
one 28-ounce cans crushed tomatoes, with their juices
•
1 teaspoon salt
•
1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
