INGREDIENTS
1 Loaf (16-ounce) French or Italian bread , sliced 1/2 inch thick {or GF bread}
8 Large eggs
2 cups Whole milk
2 cups Half-and-half
1 tablespoon Sugar
2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg
Topping:
12 tablespoons Unsalted butter (1 1/2 sticks), softened
1 1/3 cups Packed light brown sugar
3 tablespoons Corn syrup
5 ounces Pecans, roughly chopped with some left whole (1 1/2 cups)
