Makes four slices. My dad used to call this "schnittas" A favorite of Jennifer's. Especially served with veggie bacon strips or as I call it- fake bacon! Jonathan really likes this too.

Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla syrup
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 4 slices bread
  • to taste - margarine (optional)
  • to taste - syrup (optional)
  • to taste - powdered sugar (optional)
  • - fresh fruit (optional)

How To Make french toast

  • Step 1
    Beat egg and vanilla in shallow dish. Stir in milk. Dip bread in egg mixture, turning to coat both sides evenly.
  • Step 2
    Cook bread slices on lightly greased nonstick griddle or skillet on medium heat until browned on both sides. Serve with butter, syrup, powdered sugar and or fresh fruit.
