INGREDIENTS

Cooking oil or lard (preferred) for frying (Enough to fill a 12 inch deep skillet with 2 inches of oil)

1 fryer chicken (cut up with skin on)
•
3-4 dashes hot sauce
•
1 c buttermilk (Additional can be added as needed. Use enough buttermilk to cover the chicken.)

2 c self-rising flour (add about 1/2 c cornstarch)
•
1 tsp garlic powder
•
1 tsp onion powder
•
2-3 tsp each of black pepper and salt
•
2 tsp paprika
•
1 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
