Butterbeer Cupcakes

INGREDIENTS
For the cupcakes:
2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup dark brown sugar, packed (if you only have light brown sugar, it’s ok to use that. Just add a 1/2 Tbs of molasses)
3 eggs
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 tsp butter flavoring (found in the grocery store by the extracts)
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup cream soda (not diet)For the ganache:
1 11-oz package butterscotch chips
1 cup heavy creamFor the buttercream frosting:
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
1/3 cup butterscotch ganache
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 tsp butter flavoring
1/8 tsp salt
3 3/4 cups powdered sugar
cream (as needed to thin out frosting)
