Homemade cherry filling:

The filling was made with out sugar, we wanted a sweet filling but not too sweet.

1 12 ounce bag frozen dark sweet cherries

1 cup water
•
3 tbls cornstarch
•
1/2 cup cherry preserves
•
I boiled the cherries for 10 minutes, I added enough water to the cornstarch to make a liquid, then added it to the cherries. If I would have had cherry extract I would have added it to the cherries, but I didn't, so I added 1/2 cup of cherry preserv
