2 Tbsp unsalted butter, (softened)
1 - 14 oz loaf brioche bread, (cut or torn into 1 inch cubes)
6 eggs
2 cups whole milk
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup granulated sugar
1 Tbsp vanilla extract
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp cardamom ((optional))
1/2 teaspoon salt
powdered sugar for garnish
