I wanted to make just a little bit of French Toast for breakfast, and didn't want to drag out the griddle. My waffle iron was sitting on the counter, having just been cleaned the day before. I decided to cook the French Toast in the waffle iron. Perfect!

Ingredients

  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup eggnog (or cream or milk)
  • 3 large slices bread
  • - butter

How To Make french toast waffle

  • Step 1
    Whip together the egg and eggnog (or cream) in a shallow bowl. Preheat your waffle iron to a medium setting.
  • Step 2
    Soak each bread slice (1 at a time) in the batter. Brush the waffle iron with butter, and place one prepared slice of bread on the waffle iron. Close lid and wait for indicator, or check after 2-3 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Remove waffle to serving plate and top with a little more butter. Repeat with remaining bread slices. Serve with honey, syrup, fruit, or powdered sugar.
