My family loves these healthier pancakes, especially when served with Spiced Apple Syrup. The oats give them a slightly chewy texture.

Ingredients
- 1 cup old fashioned oats
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/4 cup wheat germ
- 1/4 cup nonfat powdered milk
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted and cooled
How To Make hearty oatmeal pancakes

Step 1In a large bowl, whisk together oats, flour, wheat germ, powdered milk, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and brown sugar.

Step 2In a medium bowl, stir together, eggs, buttermilk, and melted butter.

Step 3Stir wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until well blended.

Step 4Lightly grease a griddle and heat until hot. Pour 1/2 cup of the batter onto the hot griddle (batter will be thick). Cook pancakes until the edges are dry and bubbles appear on the surface. Turn and cook other side.
