Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 medium gala apples, cored and thinly sliced
  • 3/4 cup - all-purpose flour
  • 6 tablespoons white granulated sugar, divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 dash milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

How To Make cinnamon apple dutch baby

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • Step 2
    Place butter in a 12-inch cast-iron (or oven-proof) skillet, and place skillet in oven for about a minute to allow butter to melt. Swirl melted butter across the bottom and along the sides of the skillet.
  • Step 3
    In a bowl, stir together the flour, 1 Tbsp sugar, baking powder, and salt until well blended. Add the milk, eggs, and vanilla and whisk until well blended and batter is smooth.
  • Step 4
    Arrange apple slices on top of the melted butter in the skillet. Pour the batter over the apples.
  • Step 5
    Combine 4 to 5 Tbsp sugar and cinnamon, and sprinkle it evenly on top of the batter.
  • Step 6
    Place skillet in oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until puffy and golden brown.
