1 cself rising flour
1 Tbspbaking powder
1 Tbspsugar (i use sugar substitute, splenda etc.)
1egg (can use egg whites)
1/2 - 1 tspvanilla extract
1 cmilk (i use skim)
1/4 cwalnut pieces or pecans etc.
How to Make Walnut Pancakes
- Mix self-rising flour, baking soda and sugar together.
Beat egg, add oil and vanilla to beaten egg. Add to flour mixture. Then add milk. When thoroughly mixed, stir in nuts.
- Pour by 1/4 or 1/2 cupfuls on hot griddle or skillet. Cook until bubbles appear on top. Turn, cook until golden brown.
Makes 6 medium or 4 large pancakes.
- Large nuts can be chopped by putting in a baggie and pounding with the smooth side of a meat hammer/tenderizer.
