Having been in the US Navy for almost 10 years, I missed this breakfast, and searched it out many years ago. Not sure where i found it but still enjoy this from time to time. Relive your old Navy days with this great meal.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 5 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cans 8 oz cans diced tomatoes with juice, i used the flavored ones
- 1 can 5.5 oz can tomato juice, v8 works well here
- 2 cups hot water
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar
- - salt and pepper to taste
How To Make us navy minced beef on toast

Step 1In a large skillet, over medium heat, brown the ground beef and onions. DO NOT DRAIN. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 2Stir in flour 1 tablespoon at a time, until beef juices have been absorbed.

Step 3Stir in tomatoes, tomato juice and water. Simmer on low heat to thicken.

Step 4Stir in nutmeg and sugar, simmer until all the flavors are blended well.
