  • THE NIGHT BEFORE:

  • 2
    loaves of french bread
  • 8 large
    eggs
  • 2 c
    half and half
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground nutmeg
  • THE MORNING OF: TOPPING INGREDIENTS

  • 3 stick
    butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 1/2 c
    chopped pecans
  • 3 Tbsp
    light corn syrup
  • 3/4 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 tsp
    ground nutmeg

How to Make The Best Pecan French Toast Ever!

Step-by-Step

  1. The Night Before...
    Slice French bread into 20 slices, 1" each. Arrange slices in a generously buttered 9x13" flat baking dish in 2 rows.
    Overlap the slices.
    In a large bowl, combine the eggs, half and half, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt and beat with a rotary beater or whisk until blended, but not too bubbly. Pour mixture over the bread slices, making sure all slices are covered evenly with the milk-egg mixture in between the slices.
    Cover with foil and refrigerate over night.
  2. The Next Morning...
    Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees. Combine topping ingredients and spread evenly between and over bread.
    Bake for 40 minutes. Serve with warm syrup. Enjoy!
