6 french bread slices,1 inch thick
3/4 cup peach preserves
6 t. cream cheese, softened
6 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 t. flour
1/2 cup fresh white bread crumbs
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 t. cinnamon
2 t. vegetable oil (about)

How to Make Stuffed French Toast


  • 1Slit top of each slice of bread to within 1 inch of edge making a pocket. Spoon 2 T. of the preserves and 1 T. of the cream cheese into each pocket. Mix eggs, milk and flour in a bowl; whisk until smooth. Mix bread crumbs, brown sugar and cinnamon in another bowl. Heat large nonstick skillet over medium heat and brush with some of the oil. Dip bread slices in egg mixture and then into the bread crumb mixture, coating completely. Cook in skillet for 2 minutes per side or until golden brown, brushing skillet with additional oil as needed. Serve with maple syrup. Serves 6
