My mother used to make this when I was growing up, and it is delicious! My siblings and I loved to spread it on the homemade bread my mom would bake. My parents have fig trees in the backyard, and the fruit is so good and fresh.

Ingredients For strawberry fig preserves

  • 6 c
    figs, peeled and cut in small pieces
  • 2 1/2 c
  • 3 oz
    package of strawberry jello
  • small amount of lemon (1/4 of a lemon cut up in bits)
  • no water

How To Make strawberry fig preserves

  • 1
    Cook 25-30 minutes or until done. Pour in canning jars and process in a boiling water bath for 5 minutes. Yield: 3 1/2 pt.
