Who wouldn't love to be served this darling and decadent breakfast? They're a simple waffle with the classic chocolate red velvet flavor. Slightly crisp outside, inside the waffles are light and fluffy. Drizzling the warm waffles with a cream cheese glaze mimics the classic frosting. Pecans sprinkled on top add crunch and nuttiness. We're obsessed with the glaze, the vibrant color, the flavor, and... well... everything about this breakfast recipe.
Ingredients
- 3 cups waffle mix
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon red food coloring
- 3 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans, lightly toasted

Step 1Heat up the waffle maker. Mix waffle mix, eggs, water, and oil according to package instructions. Add cocoa powder to the waffle mix and mix well.

Step 2Add red food coloring slowly until you get the "red velvet" color you want.

Step 3Cook waffles in the waffle maker.

Step 4This will make 5-6 Belgian waffles or 10 regular waffles.

Step 5With a mixer blend together cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk. Pour glaze into a saucepan and warm on medium-low. Stir frequently.
