This is how my husband and I have started our day for 54 years. Breakfast is our main meal of the day, and we can't function without our hot biscuits and a good cup of coffee. My grandchildren all love to come to our house on the weekends to eat biscuits and gravy.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Hearty, these Southern country biscuits with sawmill gravy are such a treat. The fluffy buttermilk biscuits are melt-in-your-mouth good. While the biscuits bake, it's easy to whip up the creamy and sausage-filled old-fashioned sawmill gravy. This may not be a breakfast eaten every day, but it's wonderful for a holiday or special occasion.
