Ingredients

  • CAKE
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • FILLING/TOPPING
  • 1 1/4 cups brown sugar
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter

How To Make sour cream coffee cake

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350
  • Step 2
    Grease and flour a 10 inch tube pan
  • Step 3
    In a large bowl, beat sugar and 1/2 cup butter until light and fluffy
  • Step 4
    Add vanilla and eggs, mix well
  • Step 5
    In a small bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt
  • Step 6
    Add flour mixture and sour cream alternately into the sugar mixture. Beginning and ending with flour mixture
  • Step 7
    In a small bowl, combine all the filling/topping ingredients - mix well
  • Step 8
    Spread 1/2 of the batter into the greased pan
  • Step 9
    Sprinkle with 1/2 of the brown sugar mixture
  • Step 10
    Repeat with the remaining batter and brown sugar mixtur
  • Step 11
    Bake 35-40 minutes
  • Step 12
    Cool upright in pan 15 minute
  • Step 13
    Invert onto cookie sheet
  • Step 14
    Then invert again
  • Step 15
    Serve streusel side up
