This was something my great-grandfather would eat for breakfast. I am sure it was a depression era breakfast. My mom would make it for us as kids. I haven't had it since then, I was not only feeling nostalgic, but was curious is any others had heard of this...I also had an elderly neighbor would would do this with cornbread or a biscuit.
