These delicious breakfast crescents are easy, satisfying, and portable! Everyone seems to love them! But just because the recipe calls for breakfast sausage doesn't mean it's just for breakfast! These tasty rolls disappear in a flash, whatever the occasion, but this recipe has become a beloved Christmas morning breakfast tradition for my family!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound pork breakfast sausage; mild, medium, or hot
  • 1 can diced green chiles
  • 8 ounces package of cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups shredded cojack cheese
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent rolls

How To Make sausage breakfast crescents

  • Step 1
Preheat oven to 350. Spray a cookie sheet with non-stick spray. Filling: Brown the sausage in a skillet along with the green chiles; drain the fat. Blend the sausage/chile mixture with the softened cream cheese; stir in the shredded cheese.
  • Step 2
Rolling up the crescents: On the wide end of each crescent roll, place a spoonful of the sausage filling. Fold the dough over the filling as you would to prepare crescent rolls according to package instructions. Place on prepared cookie sheet, at least 2 inches apart.
  • Step 3
Baking: Bake crescents at 350 for about 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Best served fresh from the oven! (Caution... filling is HOT!)
  • Step 4
*Tips: If you like a little more heat to your cooking, diced jalapenos can be added while browning the sausage and green chiles. Also, sausage filling can be made and refrigerated the night before you plan to bake these breakfast rolls, but will be less pliable for spooning. Softening in the microwave is recommended if you make ahead. Also, if serving really hungry people, plan on doubling the recipe... these will disappear quickly!
