  • 3 Tbsp
    butter (i used salted)
  • 1 c
    heavy cream
  • 1 c
    whole milk
  • 2 c
    water or chicken stock
  • 1 tsp
    salt (maybe more) taste your broth
  • 1 c
    grits, quick-cooking
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter (to finish the dish)

How to Make Rebecca's Amazingly Creamy Grits


  1. Combine all ingredients, except the grits in a pot. Stir to incorporate.
  2. When ingredients come to a soft rolling boil add grits and WHISK. A whisk will keep your grits lump free.
  3. Cover the grits and turn heat to low (2 on my stove).
  4. Cook for 5-7 mins, stirring occasionally. I stirred every three minutes.
  5. When finished take off burner and put one TAB of butter on top. Cover with lid or sever immediately.
