These grits aren't for the calorie conscious! They are creamy and delicious!

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons butter (i used salted)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 cups water or chicken stock
  • 1 teaspoon salt (maybe more) taste your broth
  • 1 cup grits, quick-cooking
  • 1 tablespoon butter (to finish the dish)

How To Make rebecca's amazingly creamy grits

  • Step 1
    Combine all ingredients, except the grits in a pot. Stir to incorporate.
  • Step 2
    When ingredients come to a soft rolling boil add grits and WHISK. A whisk will keep your grits lump free.
  • Step 3
    Cover the grits and turn heat to low (2 on my stove).
  • Step 4
    Cook for 5-7 mins, stirring occasionally. I stirred every three minutes.
  • Step 5
    When finished take off burner and put one TAB of butter on top. Cover with lid or sever immediately.
