Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 - egg
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 2/3 cup applesauce, unsweetened
- 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon canola oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2/3 cup chocolate chips
How To Make pumpkin chocolate chip muffins

Step 1Preheat oven to 350.

Step 2Prepare a 12 cup muffin tin with nonstick spray or liners.

Step 3In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger. Whisk until combined.

Step 4In a separate bowl, mix together egg, pumpkin, apple sauce, oil and vanilla until well combined.

Step 5Combine the wet and dry ingredients and mix until just combined (be careful not to over mix). Fold in chocolate chips.

Step 6Scoop the batter into the prepared muffin tins. Bake for 15-18 minutes.

Step 7If you insert a toothpick it should come out clean. Remove from muffin tin and cool on a wire rack.
