Ingredients

  • 9 large eggs
  • 3 cups half & half
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon or nutmeg (i like cinnamon)
  • 24-30 slices french bread...3/4" thick
  • PRALINE SYRUP
  • 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup karo syrup (not the dark one)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans..toasted
  • 2 tablespoons butter

How To Make praline french toast

  • Step 1
    In a large bowl,lightly beat eggs. Stir in cream,sugar,vanilla,and cinnamon Arrange french bread in a single layer in 2 greased 15"x10"x1' baking pan.
  • Step 2
    Pour egg mixture over bread. Cover & refrigerate overnight.
  • Step 3
    Remove from refrigerator 30 before baking. Bake,uncovered,in preheated 400 oven for 20-25 minutes,or until golden brown.
  • Step 4
    MEANWHILE, for Praline syrup,combine the brown sugar,corn syrup,and water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat;simmer,uncovered,for 3 minutes. Stir in pecans & butter;simmer 2 minutes longer. Serve with French Toast.
