Ingredients

  • 9 large
    eggs
  • 3 c
    half & half
  • 1/3 c
    sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon or nutmeg (i like cinnamon)
  • 24-30 slice
    french bread...3/4" thick
  • PRALINE SYRUP

  • 1 1/2 c
    packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 c
    karo syrup (not the dark one)
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 1/2 c
    chopped pecans..toasted
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter

How to Make Praline French Toast

Step-by-Step

  1. In a large bowl,lightly beat eggs.
    Stir in cream,sugar,vanilla,and cinnamon
    Arrange french bread in a single layer in 2 greased
    15"x10"x1' baking pan.
  2. Pour egg mixture over bread. Cover & refrigerate overnight.
  3. Remove from refrigerator 30 before baking.
    Bake,uncovered,in preheated 400 oven for 20-25 minutes,or until golden brown.
  4. MEANWHILE, for Praline syrup,combine the brown sugar,corn syrup,and water in a saucepan.
    Bring to a boil over medium heat.
    Reduce heat;simmer,uncovered,for 3 minutes.
    Stir in pecans & butter;simmer 2 minutes longer.
    Serve with French Toast.
