orange juice
1/3 c
1/4 c
1/4 tsp
1/4 tsp
italian bread cut in 1" slices
1/3 c
butter, melted, divided
1/2 c
pecan pieces
2 Tbsp
orange peel, grated

How to Make Pecan French Toast


  • 1Using a whisk, beat eggs, orange juice, milk, sugar, nutmeg and vanilla.
  • 2Place bread with edges touching, in a layer, in a large baking dish.
  • 3Pour milk mixture over bread, cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • 4Turn once.
  • 5Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • 6Pour melted butter on a jelly roll pan, or large cookie sheet with sides.
  • 7Arrange soaked slices in a single layer on pan.
  • 8Sprinkle with orange peel and pecans.
  • 9Bake 20 minutes.
  • 10Check slices during last 10 minutes.
