Ingredients
- 4 - eggs
- 2/3 cup orange juice
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 - italian bread cut in 1" slices
- 1/3 cup butter, melted, divided
- 1/2 cup pecan pieces
- 2 tablespoons orange peel, grated
How To Make pecan french toast

Step 1Using a whisk, beat eggs, orange juice, milk, sugar, nutmeg and vanilla.

Step 2Place bread with edges touching, in a layer, in a large baking dish.

Step 3Pour milk mixture over bread, cover and refrigerate overnight.

Step 4Turn once.

Step 5Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Step 6Pour melted butter on a jelly roll pan, or large cookie sheet with sides.

Step 7Arrange soaked slices in a single layer on pan.

Step 8Sprinkle with orange peel and pecans.

Step 9Bake 20 minutes.

Step 10Check slices during last 10 minutes.
