orange juice
1 Tbsp
orange liqueur, optional
1 tsp
vanilla

loaf italian bread cut into 1/2" slices
3 Tbsp
confectioners' sugar
3 Tbsp
brown sugar
4 tsp
butter

How to Make Orange French Toast

Step-by-Step

  • 1Beat together eggs, orange juice, orange liqueur, 2 tablespoons confectioners sugar and vanilla.
  • 2Place bread slices in one layer in a large roasting or baking pan. Pour the egg mixture over bread layer.
  • 3Turn to soak. Cover with cling-wrap. Place in refrigerator for at least two hours, turning bread slices occasionally.
  • 4On a plate, combine confectioners sugar and brown sugar.
  • 5Preheat electric skillet to 375.
  • 6Melt butter and set aside. Remove bread slices from the egg mixture and place in skillet. Cook slices for 3-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
  • 7Add more butter to skillet, if necessary.
  • 8Toss slices in sugar mixture and serve immediately.
