My husband and I thoroughly enjoy this cooked oatmeal for breakfast. Especially when topped with sliced bananas and fresh blueberries. Then I'll apply a bit of organic blue agave on top as well.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (slightly heaping) quick cook rolled oats
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup water
  • - organic blue agave (i'll add some on top of the oatmeal after it's been cooked)
  • - fresh blueberries, to garnish on top of the cooked oatmeal
  • - slices of bananas, to garnish on top of the cooked oatmeal

How To Make oatmeal with blueberries and bananas for 2 people

  • Step 1
In a 1-quart microwave-safe bowl, add the water, quick-cooked rolled oats, and a pinch of salt.
  • Step 2
Place the bowl (uncovered) in the microwave. My microwave happens to be 1,000 watts.
  • Step 3
Cook uncovered for 2 minutes and 34 seconds. Then remove the bowl, and top the oatmeal with a bit of organic agave nectar, plus the fresh blueberries and a few sliced bananas, and serve.
  • Step 4
Note: Instead of the raspberries and sliced bananas, I'll top the already cooked oatmeal with a few fresh blueberries, or sliced strawberries, or perhaps chocolate chips. Personally, I prefer to use mini chocolate chips, while my husband prefers the regular-size chocolate chips.
