These super simple no bake granola bars are a staple in our house. Change them up with nuts, dried fruit, or different types of chocolate chips. They are just right for a quick snack, and hit the spot to tame the sweet tooth, too!

Ingredients

4 Tbsp
unsalted butter
1/4 c
honey
1/3 c
brown sugar, packed
2 c
quick cooking oats
1 c
puffed rice cereal (like rice crispies)
2 Tbsp
toasted wheat germ
1/2 tsp
vanilla
3-4 Tbsp
mini chocolate chips

How to Make No Bake Granola Bars

Step-by-Step

  • 1Melt the butter, honey and brown sugar in a small pot over medium. When it starts to bubble, turn the heat to low and let cook for 2 minutes to dissolve the sugar completely. Remove from heat, and add the vanilla.
  • 2Combine the rice cereal, oats and wheat germ in a bowl. Pour the butter/sugar mixture over the cereal/oat mixture. Stir to combine. Add in 2-3 Tbsp of the chocolate chips.
  • Pour the mixture into a lightly greased pan and press firmly. I like mine...
    3Pour the mixture into a lightly greased pan and press firmly. I like mine thick, so I use a jelly roll pan and pack the mixture up to the rim. Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on the top and press slightly into the bars.
  • 4Let cool, and cut into bars. Store in an airtight container or wrap individual bars. Enjoy!
