These super simple no bake granola bars are a staple in our house. Change them up with nuts, dried fruit, or different types of chocolate chips. They are just right for a quick snack, and hit the spot to tame the sweet tooth, too!

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 cups quick cooking oats
  • 1 cup puffed rice cereal (like rice crispies)
  • 2 tablespoons toasted wheat germ
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3-4 tablespoons mini chocolate chips

How To Make no bake granola bars

  • Step 1
Melt the butter, honey and brown sugar in a small pot over medium. When it starts to bubble, turn the heat to low and let cook for 2 minutes to dissolve the sugar completely. Remove from heat, and add the vanilla.
  • Step 2
Combine the rice cereal, oats and wheat germ in a bowl. Pour the butter/sugar mixture over the cereal/oat mixture. Stir to combine. Add in 2-3 Tbsp of the chocolate chips.
  • Step 3
Pour the mixture into a lightly greased pan and press firmly. I like mine thick, so I use a jelly roll pan and pack the mixture up to the rim. Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on the top and press slightly into the bars.
  • Step 4
Let cool, and cut into bars. Store in an airtight container or wrap individual bars. Enjoy!
