How can you not love the wonderful aroma of warm, just out of the oven Cinnamon Rolls ? Whether they are still rising or baking, they smell wonderful.

  • 1 pkg
    active dry yeast
  • 1/4 c
    warm water
  • 3/4 c
    lukewarm water ( scalded then cooled)
  • 1/4 c
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1
    egg
  • 1/4 c
    butter or margarine - softened
  • 3 1/2 to
    3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 Tbsp
    margarine - softened
  • FILLING:
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar
  • 2 to 3 tsp
    cinnamon
  • ICING:
  • 1 1/2 c
    icing sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    milk
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla

How To Make make homemade cinnamon rolls for sunday brunch

    Dough Dissolve yeast in warm water. Mix in next 5 ingredients and 2 cups flour. Stir. Mix in enough of the remaining flour until it forms a dough. Knead about 5 minutes on a floured surface. Place in greased bowl; turn grease side up. Cover: let rise in warm place until double about 1 1 /2 to 2 hours. Punch down dough and divide into 4 sections.

    Roll out dough into rectangles; spread with margarine. Sprinkle filling over rectangle. Roll up; pinch edges to seal well. Cut roll into 1" slices. Place in greased baking dish, slightly apart. Let rise until double. Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 325 F. Frost with icing while rolls are still warm.
