For this chilly morning, I wanted oatmeal, and I had a very ripe banana to use. And oatmeal is always better with maple syrup, Craisins (or raisins), and pecans!

Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups water
- 1 cup old-fashioned oatmeal
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 large ripe banana
- 1-2 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon dried cranberries or raisins
- 1 tablespoon chopped pecans or other nuts
How To Make loaded oatmeal

Step 1Bring water and salt to a boil, stir in oats. Cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes or until thickened. (See package directions.)

Step 2Smash banana and maple syrup together and stir into oatmeal. Add cranberries or raisins. Heat another minute, cover, and turn off the heat. Let sit for a minute or two.

Step 3Sprinkle with pecans and half and half to serve.
