My Aunt Barbara shared this recipe with my Mom and I years ago. Since then, we have made this at every family brunch and for several pot luck occasions. The best part about this recipe is that it is prepared the night before, so the morning of the breakfast or brunch is leisurely. This has become our signature family dish! Maybe it will be yours too!

Ingredients
- 12 slices bread, crust removed, buttered and cubed
- 1 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 1/4 pounds cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 pound mushrooms, sliced and sauteed
- 1 quart milk
- 8 - eggs, well-beaten
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 teaspoon salt
How To Make kay's brunch

Step 1In well-buttered 9x13 glass pan, place bread cubes.

Step 2Cover with bacon, then cheese, then mushrooms.

Step 3Mix together milk, eggs, dry mustard, and salt.

Step 4Pour egg mixture over casserole.

Step 5Refrigerate overnight.

Step 6Bake uncovered at 325 degrees for 1 - 1 1/4 hours.
