This recipe is quick, easy and sooo good. You'll never buy granola bars again!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups old fashioned oats
  • 1 cup coconut, shredded, sweetened
  • 1 cup pecan pieces
  • 2/3 cup honey
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 dash cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup wheat germ, toasted
  • 1/2 cup chopped apricots, dried
  • 1/2 cup cranberries, dried
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

How To Make homemade granola bars

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 and butter well an 8 1/2 x 11 pan with parchment paper on the bottom. (Do not use wax paper)
  • Step 2
    Combine oats, coconut and nuts on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 12 minutes, stirring 2-3 times. Turn oven to 300, remove from heat, put in bowl and stir in wheat germ.
  • Step 3
    In a saucepan, combine honey, butter, cinnamon, brown sugar, vanilla and salt. Boil for 4 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Pour sauce over oat mixture and add dried fruit. Stir together well. Press granola well into pan with buttered fingers and press down.
  • Step 5
    Bake at 300 for 30 minutes. Let cool for 2 hours before cutting. Loosen edges with knife, turn out onto cutting board. Enjoy!
