Ingredients

  • 1 2/3 cups oat bran hot cereal, uncooked
  • 1 cup oats, quick or old-fashioned, uncooked
  • 1/3 cup instant nonfat dry milk solids
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup hulled sunflower seeds
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange peel
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cup dried banana chips
  • 1/2 cup raisins

How To Make healthy oat granola

  • Step 1
    Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Step 2
    Combine oat bran, oats, dried milk, honey, sunflower seeds, oil, water, orange peel and vanilla; mix well.
  • Step 3
    Spread in a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
  • Step 4
    Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown, stirring once after 10 minutes.
  • Step 5
    Stir in banana chips and raisins.
  • Step 6
    Cool completely.
  • Step 7
    Store tightly covered up to 1 week.
  • Step 8
    Serve cold or hot with skim milk or as a topping over fruit, low fat yogurt or ice milk, if desired.
