These are healthy and good tasting. I never purchase granola bars from the store any more because they are so easy to make, taste better and you get more for your money. I also like that I control the ingredients. I hope you enjoy these.

whole oats
1/2 c
brown sugar
1/4 c
wheat germ
1/4 c
ground flax seed
1 tsp
1 c
whole wheat flour
3/4 tsp
1/4-1/2 c
1 large
egg, beaten
1/2 c
butter, melted
2 tsp
optional chopped raisins or nuts

How to Make Granola Bars


  • 1Mix together oats, brown sugar, wheat germ, flax, cinnamon, flour, raisin or nuts & salt.
  • 2Combine all wet ingredients in small bowl then add to the dry mixture.
  • 3Pat with a greased spatula into a greased 8"x8" square pan.
  • 4Bake at 350' until edges turn golden.
  • 5Cool about 5 minutes then cut into squares.
