These are healthy and good tasting. I never purchase granola bars from the store any more because they are so easy to make, taste better and you get more for your money. I also like that I control the ingredients. I hope you enjoy these.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup wheat germ
  • 1/4 cup ground flax seed
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4-1/2 cup honey
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • - optional chopped raisins or nuts

How To Make granola bars

  • Step 1
    Mix together oats, brown sugar, wheat germ, flax, cinnamon, flour, raisin or nuts & salt.
  • Step 2
    Combine all wet ingredients in small bowl then add to the dry mixture.
  • Step 3
    Pat with a greased spatula into a greased 8"x8" square pan.
  • Step 4
    Bake at 350' until edges turn golden.
  • Step 5
    Cool about 5 minutes then cut into squares.
