These are healthy and good tasting. I never purchase granola bars from the store any more because they are so easy to make, taste better and you get more for your money. I also like that I control the ingredients. I hope you enjoy these.

  • 2 c
    whole oats
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar
  • 1/4 c
    wheat germ
  • 1/4 c
    ground flax seed
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 c
    whole wheat flour
  • 3/4 tsp
  • 1/4-1/2 c
  • 1 large
    egg, beaten
  • 1/2 c
    butter, melted
  • 2 tsp
  • ·
    optional chopped raisins or nuts

How to Make Granola Bars


  1. Mix together oats, brown sugar, wheat germ, flax, cinnamon, flour, raisin or nuts & salt.
  2. Combine all wet ingredients in small bowl then add to the dry mixture.
  3. Pat with a greased spatula into a greased 8"x8" square pan.
  4. Bake at 350' until edges turn golden.
  5. Cool about 5 minutes then cut into squares.
