Ingredients
- 5 cups whole oats
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2 tablespoons ground flax seed
- 2 tablespoons toasted wheat germ
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1-2 teaspoon cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice
- 1 cup chopped nuts of your choice (optional)
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup dried fruit of choice (optional)
How To Make granola

Step 1Combine the first 7 ingredients.

Step 2Combine the applesauce, syrup, Splenda & vanilla.

Step 3Add this to the oat mixture, combining well.

Step 4Spread onto a cookie sheet.

Step 5Bake in a 350' oven for 40 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.

Step 6Cool completely then add the dried fruit.

Step 7Store in a tightly covered container. This will usually stay fresh for between 7-10 days.
