  • 5 c
    whole oats
  • 1/4 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 Tbsp
    ground flax seed
  • 2 Tbsp
    toasted wheat germ
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1-2 tsp
    cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 c
    chopped nuts of your choice (optional)
  • 1/3 c
    melted butter
  • 2 Tbsp
  • 1/2 c
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 c
    dried fruit of choice (optional)

How to Make Granola


  1. Combine the first 7 ingredients.
  2. Combine the applesauce, syrup, Splenda & vanilla.
  3. Add this to the oat mixture, combining well.
  4. Spread onto a cookie sheet.
  5. Bake in a 350' oven for 40 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.
  6. Cool completely then add the dried fruit.
  7. Store in a tightly covered container. This will usually stay fresh for between 7-10 days.
