YUM! This is a great pancake! And the buttermilk syrup is to die for! Is wonderful on waffles and french toast too and the syrup keeps for weeks in the fridge.

1 c
2% milk
1 c
all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp
salt
2 Tbsp
butter, melted

BUTTERMILK SYRUP

1 1/2 c
sugar
3/4 c
buttermilk
1/2 c
butter
2 Tbsp
corn syrup
1 tsp
baking soda
2 tsp
vanilla extract
confectioners sugar

How to Make German Pancake Recipe

Step-by-Step

  • 1In a blender, combine the eggs, milk, flour and salt. Cover and process until smooth.
  • 2Pour the butter into an ungreased 13x9 inch baking dish. Add the batter and bake uncovered at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
  • 3Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine the first five syrup ingredients and bring to a boil. Boil for 7 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Dust pancake with confectioners sugar and serve immediately with the syrup.
  • 4Syrup makes about 2 cups. This is a Taste Of Home recipe and I just love it!
