Ingredients
- 1 large granny smith apple peeled and sliced thin
- 2 tablespoons butter for skillet
- MEDIUM BOWL:
- 1/3 cup flour
- 2/3 cup milk
- 4 large eggs
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- SMALL BOWL:
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
How To Make bonnie’s german apple pancake

Step 1Peel and core a large Granny Smith apple and slice it thin.

Step 2Melt butter in a 10-inch, well seasoned, cast iron frying pan.

Step 3In the small bowl, combine 3 tablespoons sugar with cinnamon and nutmeg.

Step 4In the medium bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, flour, vanilla and the reserved 1 tablespoon of the cinnamon mixture.

Step 5Sprinkle the small bowl mixture evenly over the melted butter, add the apple slices and gently stir to coat the apples.

Step 6Cook over medium heat 4 to 5 minutes. Cool slightly.

Step 7Pour the medium bowl mixture gently over the apple slices.

Step 8Bake in a 400 degree oven until golden brown and sides are puffy, approximately 15 to 20 minutes.

Step 9Serve immediately with maple syrup and whipped cream if you desire. Enjoy!
